ARC...
Persuasion
was 3rd in Class and 16th overall in the ARC 2004
The
Race:
The annual Atlantic Rally for Cruisers from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria to
Rodney Bay, St Lucia is not only the most popular and the safest way to
sail the Atlantic, it is also now the largest yachting event in the world
with over 200 yachts from all over the globe converging on Las Palmas
in early November each year to enjoy the experience of a lifetime!
The
2,700 nautical mile passage following the north east tradewind route takes
between 12 and 24 days depending on yacht size, weather conditions and
the determination of the crew.
There
will be a maximium of 6 crew plus skipper on each of the two 54 foot yachts,
making for a very comfortable crossing. Each crew member will take part
in all aspects of running the boat, from watch duty to cooking. A fantastic
experience, which everyone thoroughly enjoys.
There
is a full programme of social activities, safety seminars and demonstrations
both in the UK in the months leading up to the event itself and in the
final week before the start, not to mention the final party; this is one
event you do not want to miss!
And
as for the party once you have reached St Lucia…..... I will leave
you to find out!
