Introduction:
Cowes Week is the longest running regatta in the world, having been held
in early August since the first race started in 1826 (except during the
two world wars).
Cowes
is known as the home of Yachting and International Yacht Racing and hosts
this prestigious yachting regatta once a year. The week sees around 1,000
yachts competing together with over 6,000 sailors and with competitors
from all over the globe it adds an international flair.
 This
classic event is renowned for its incredible party atmosphere and social
spirit. The social side is just as much part of the event as the sailing,
with a tremendous variety of cocktail parties, balls, discos, dances and
live music, both for private and public. One of the greatest social areas
is the ´infamous beer tent´ which regularly sees 4,000 people
a day!
