First Class Eights
 The
Beneteau First Class Eights are 8 metre keelboats capable of taking up
to five people. No experience is needed as all of our skippers are very
capable of handling the boat and teaching complete beginners the basics
of sailing.
They are
fun and easy to sail but also fast and responsive which allows the flexibility
for us to cater for novices who require a skipper and instruction on how
to sail the boats to budding Olympians who can put their sailing prowess
to the test.
Based at
the Royal Victoria Docks in London there is little risk of suffering from
extreme conditions, making it a safe and secure environment for sailing
and an ideal venue for these exciting boats. But do not be deceived -
the winds can be variable in both direction and strength, so even for
the experienced helm the conditions can be challenging. The entire fleet
are identical and in excellent condition, having recently undergone a
major refit.
 Our
First Class Eights have provided match racing and team racing training
over the last few years for experienced sailors under the banner of the
Royal Yachting Association but we are now keen to bring sailing to a wider
audience and encourage those with no experience to join in and enjoy the
fun.
We have our
own permanent pontoon at the Royal Victoria Docks to simplify the transfer
of clients to and from their yachts on event days. Two fast and stable
RiB’s (Rigid Inflatable Boats) provide safety cover, race management
and crew transfer services as well as training and photography platforms
if required. Life jackets and full wet weather gear is provided for our
clients use.
The ExCeL
Novotel on the waterside at the Royal Victoria Docks is used by most of
our clients as their hospitality base, offering a wide variety of cuisine
to suit every taste and budget served in their modern, attractive first
floor hotel lounge, bar and restaurant. The Novotel also boasts a magnificent
south facing terrace overlooking the sailing water which provides an excellent
viewing platform for non-sailing clients and for race management as well.
